Bi-component Microcement Base

Bi-component Microcement Base

£9.17 (£11.00 Incl.VAT)

BI-COMPONENT MICROCEMENT BASE  is a cement coating featuring synthetic resins, special sands and selected minerals that is applied manually with a steel trowel. This product is used to level surfaces like floors, walls and ceilings. It is applied over  fibreglass mesh and the junction of the two materials prevents the cracking of the surface whilst increasing its mechanical resistance – this prepares the surface in the optimum way to allow for the application of BI-COMPONENT  MICROCEMENT FINE

Application

Mix 3 parts of Stonedust base microcement with 1 part of HD resin  and use an electric mixer to mix the content until you achieve an even consistency.

Between the application of the first and second layer Microcement , it should have enough time to allow it to become touch dry (approximately 4-6 hours – drying time varies dependent on temperature, ventilation and humidity present at the site).

It may be necessary to apply up to 3 layers of base microcement  dependant on the initial condition of the surface until a smooth and level surface is achieved.

If you have applied the Fibreglass, it must be completely covered with the a layer of base microcement.

In the event of application over wall tiles, it may be necessary to continue with the application of layers until you have completely covered the surface of the tiles and any joints there may be.

The application is done manually by applying the product in thin layers of 1mm using a steel trowel – never apply layers thicker than 1mm.
Once a layer has dried, sand it with grit 40-60 sandpaper and remove all the resulting dust using a vacuum cleaner.

Efficiency

The efficiency is approximately of ± 1 kg/m2 by 1mm layer.
