It is generally used on resin bound stone after hand trowelling in order to remove the trowel marks that often occur. With added weight, it has the capacity to smooth a resin bound stone surface without prior hand trowelling.

The shape and size of the aggregate and the outside temperature have an impact on the workability of materials and therefore, it is not always possible to achieve the desired finish using the power float alone.
